Alligator Shear Machine Basic Operation Method

**Preparation Before Operation**

**Personnel Requirements:** Operators must be professionally trained and certified. Unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from operating the equipment.

**Personal Protective Equipment:** Wear protective clothing with tight cuffs, a safety helmet, protective gloves, and goggles. Skirts, slippers, or scarves and other clothing that could easily get caught in the fabric are prohibited.

**Equipment Inspection:**

**Check if the hydraulic oil level is within the normal range. Add hydraulic oil if necessary.**photobank (16)(1).jpg

**Check if the blade gap meets the requirements of the material thickness to be sheared (generally 5%~7% of the material thickness). Manually rotate the flywheel to confirm smooth blade movement.**

**Check all fasteners and safety devices for integrity, ensuring they are not loose or damaged.**

**Clean the worktable and shearing area of debris to prevent foreign objects from damaging the blades.**

**Start-up and Operation:**

**Start the hydraulic pump.** Shearing operations can only begin after the system pressure has stabilized.

**Select the working mode according to the operation requirements:**

**Inching Mode:** Used for debugging or fine-tuning the blade holder position. Press the button to activate; release to stop.

Single-cycle mode: Press the shear button, the blade holder descends to complete one shear cycle, and then automatically returns to the upper position.

Cycle mode: The blade holder continuously and automatically reciprocates for shearing, suitable for batch operations; when used with a feeding device, the online mode can be activated.

Shearing operation: Smoothly feed the material to be sheared into the shearing nozzle, as close to the inside of the blade as possible to avoid lateral force.

Do not directly support the material with your hands; use a dedicated clamp for feeding, especially for short materials less than 100mm in length.

For materials such as high-hardness alloy steel, it is recommended to use progressive shearing to reduce instantaneous load and protect the blade.
